our story began when…

HI! I’m Brittany! I am the owner of The Busy Brush! I am a self-taught artist and lover of all things colorful and whimsical. You can find me buzzing around the studio painting banners, windows, wood, walls or glueing pompoms to mirrors, cutting out the wood projects on my trusty scroll saw, cleaning brushes, updating our social media…. or looking for my phone that was literally JUST in my hand a minute ago!

Besides the studio, I am a mom of 3 human girlies, 3 cats, 2 turtles, 1 dog and a ferret named Jerry and wife to my high school sweetheart.

The Busy Brush began in 2021 as The DIY Studio with a small shop in Mount Union with a blend of handmade craft items and DIY classes.

After taking a break in 2024, we reopened as The Busy Brush Co. in Lewistown, PA in September 2025.

Our studio is now a full-time Walk-in paint studio for all ages to enjoy.

Grab the kids, or a friend (or several) and come paint something fun at The Busy Brush! You can even bring snacks! :)

We wanted to make a difference.

I whole heartedly believe that painting is a good way to escape from the real world and create lasting memories with friends and family.

This is about fun art, not fine art… everyone is an artist as long as you are creating.

As a local mom, I could see the need for a safe place for families to spend time together for a fun experience. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to provide such a unique space in our community.
